Athletics for the Mind®
Chess for Success organizes the annual Chess for Success Regional and State Championship tournaments for elementary, middle and high school students.These tournaments started as the OMSI Tournament in 1967. 46 players in grades four through eight participated in the first tournament. Now thousands of students in kindergarden through twelfth grade participate in 24 regional tournaments throughout Oregon.
Chess for Success also organizes other tournaments, such as the City of Portland and Girls Play Chess Tournaments.
